GridPlayer is designed with privacy as a core principle. The App operates primarily offline on your macOS device. We do not upload, host, or view your video files.

This policy explains how we handle the limited data required for subscriptions.

1. Data We Do Not Collect

  • No Video Uploads: Your video files are processed locally on your Mac. They never leave your device.
  • No Accounts: We do not require you to create an account or log in to use the App.
  • No Behavioral Tracking: We do not use third-party analytics tools (like Google Analytics or Mixpanel) to track your clicks or viewing behavior inside the App.

2. Data We Collect (Subscriptions)

To provide the "GridPlayer Pro" subscription, we use RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider.

  • What is collected: When you purchase a subscription via the Mac App Store, Apple shares an anonymous receipt with RevenueCat. This allows the App to check if your subscription is active.
  • Identifiers: We use an anonymous App User ID generated randomly on your device to synchronize your subscription status. We do not link this ID to your email, name, or real-world identity.

3. Third-Party Services

  • Apple: Processes all payments. We do not have access to your credit card information or billing address.
  • RevenueCat: Validates receipts and manages subscription entitlements. Link to RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Apple and RevenueCat process certain technical and purchase-related information necessary to validate and manage subscriptions (such as anonymized identifiers and purchase receipts). This data is used solely for subscription functionality and is not linked to an individual’s real-world identity. GridPlayer does not have access to personal user data such as names, email addresses, or payment information.

4. Data Retention

Since we do not require user accounts, we do not store personal profiles on our servers. Subscription data is retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their respective retention policies to ensure you can restore your purchase if you switch Macs.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

6. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

As we do not store personal data (like names or emails) associated with your usage, we generally cannot identify you to fulfill data access requests.

  • Subscription Data: You can manage or delete your purchase history directly through your Apple ID settings.

Because GridPlayer does not collect or store personal data directly, we are unable to identify individual users or fulfill data access or deletion requests ourselves. Any requests related to subscription or purchase data should be directed to Apple or RevenueCat in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
